Running Down the “To Do” List

Pastor Sal Massa

Thursday we will say good bye to Quiet Corner and make the journey back to Bangalore. We will return to our U.S. home on Tuesday. We have had several things to do prior to our leaving:

  • Sunday we made a trip to Gudalar to pay for two cabinets for our room. In preparation for our next trip to Quiet Corner, there will be some

renovations to our living space to make it more like a small apartment. We purchased 2 cabinets for the bedroom and had them delivered. The fun was getting them up the steps of Mercy Corner and into our room.

  • Monday began with a walk after breakfast to the nearby village. I stopped in to visit with Joyce and Vasu. They told me they went to an evangelistic meeting. Thousands attended and are praying for the entire Niligris District of Tamil Nadu to break out in revival.
  • At noon, Pastor Jacob and his associate came from Ooty for a meeting to plan a conference next January for Pastors and Church Leaders.
  • After the meeting, Sal went with Das on some errands, while I went with Annama to meet an elderly British couple (she is 87 and he is 90) who

are living in the village for the past 20 years. Their health is failing but they were both adorable and so hospitable. His name is Henry, his father was a Henry and so was his grandfather. I jokingly asked if he was Henry the Eighth and suddenly we were singing the song, I’m Henry the Eighth I Am!  I was delighted when they told me they were Christians. Before I left, I prayed with them and promised them I would visit again when we returned.

  • Sweet Prema

At 5:00, we drove to Bokka Purim for a surprise visit with Prema. God gave us a special love for this girl when she was just 4. Now she is 13. She has learned English and attends a Christian School. We always enjoy our visits with her and her parents.

Tomorrow will be another day of checking things off our “To Do” List. It’s time to start packing and turn our hearts towards home. Heaven knows we have a lot waiting for us when we get there. God willing we will return here next December. I love the amplified version of Philippians 2:13:

For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.
